As usual, like many other Indian women, life goes on. I left the job and took full-time responsibility for the family with two kids. While enjoying the journey of motherhood, the responsibilities of caring for a child were immense for choosing the right personal care products, but very quickly, reading the small lines on the packaging leads to more questions than answers: how to avoid synthetic and inferior ingredients? What is behind the brand and its products? How are the products made? 

I started making my formulations at home; I made every effort to develop natural products that meet my expectations as a natural cosmetician and to choose to live a healthy, natural lifestyle. I always wish to radiate beautiful skin; the application and absorption of healthy cosmetics are as critical to our skin as the ingestion of healthy food. Our skin is the largest organ of our body, and since it is porous, it absorbs whatever you put on it. So, to achieve a maximum concentration of active ingredients, I do not use fillers or thickeners in my recipes, nor do I add neutral oil, waxes, or artificial emulsifiers to my formulations.

Through word-of-mouth, my friends, relatives, and neighbors started using handmade products daily, and yielded good results. This pleasure and fulfillment invigorated my passion for changing how the world views luxury cosmetics. Finally, after many years of inner push and pull, in 2022, "Aashvi" was born to reflect my philosophy of Pure and Natural, full of ancient knowledge and culture.

Aashvi is the name of Goddess Saraswati, and its English meaning is “Blessed.”

Goddess Saraswati is celebrated as a feminine deity with healing and purifying powers of abundant, flowing waters, which is described in the Rigveda (10.17) as follows (in Sanskrit language):

अपो अस्मान मातरः शुन्धयन्तु घर्तेन नो घर्तप्वः पुनन्तु |
विश्वं हि रिप्रं परवहन्ति देविरुदिदाभ्यः शुचिरापूत एमि ||

Translated as below:

May the waters, the mothers, cleanse us,
may they who purify with butter purify us with butter,
for these goddesses bear away defilement,
I come up out of them pure and cleansed.
